Acropolis Museum

An archaeological museum, the Acropolis Museum focuses on the discoveries made at the Acropolis of Athens. The museum was constructed to house every artifact, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece, that was discovered on the rock and on the surrounding slopes. It also stands at the top of the ruins of early Byzantine and Roman Athens.

The organization of the museum was founded in 2008, although the museum itself was founded in 2003. It is open to the public since June 20, 2009.  Over an area of 14,000 square meter space in three levels, more than 4,250 artifacts are on display.

A wide variety of events, exhibitions, and activities are available for visitors of all ages to enjoy while seeing the Acropolis Museum.

The young and the old can enjoy thrilling experiences in a distinctive arts and culture environment through gallery presentations, exhibition programs, school and community programs, creative activities, archaeological tours, music, and other events.
