Due to the two distinct pieces of land that Astypalea is made up of connected by a short stretch of coastline, it is called ”the butterfly of the Aegean”.
The island is a sustainable leader and a haven for the nature lovers. The whitewashed small buidings are the perfect scenery for freerunners. And although they are similar to the ones in the Cyclades islands, Astypalea is part of the Dodecanese islands group.
The annual event Red Bull Art of Motion 2022 was held in Astypalea, as one of the world’s most picturesque locations.
